We bought this toothbrush for our 10 year old daughter after a trip to the dentist.  Until this purchase she had always used gimmicky kids manual or battery operated toothbrushes.  We had them all – Disney princesses, Hello Kitty, Minions!  Anything to get her to brush her teeth.  However, even with these kid friendly options, the dentist told us at our check up last year that she really wasn’t brushing her back or bottom teeth very well and recommended that we buy her an electric toothbrush.  After a few minutes ‘googling’,  I found this Oral B electric toothbrush on offer and felt as it was age appropriate and one of her favourite colours it was worth a go.  I also liked the sound of the timer feature as the sand timer and egg timer we had previously didn’t guarantee she would brush for a whole 2 minutes!

It seems to have been a success!  My daughter likes it and uses it for the right amount of time! On our last 6 month check up, our dentist commented that she looked like she had been brushing well and had no issues.   I think the fact it is quite similar to my Oral B Sensi Ultrathin helps, as it looks more grown up than her former toothbrushes but thankfully comes in a different colour so we haven’t muddled them up.  The main differences that I can see between this Junior toothbrush and my adult one is the thin handle and it is colorful – it comes in bright green as well as purple.  Otherwise, they are seem quite similar, with a comfortable grip, light to show low battery power and 2 point shaver plug.  We have found the power to last about a week and the only downside is that the kids don’t have a shaver point in their bathroom so now brush their teeth in ours, as this is where there toothbrushes are charged.  We have not taken this toohbrush away, as like most electric toothbrushes its a bit bulky to pack with the charger and so we just pack manual toothbrushes for sleepovers, school trips and family holidays.

At the current offer price of £24.99, I would recommend this electric toothbrush, it feels ‘grown up’ but is slimline, bright and has a good soft grip handle so should appeal to the older child.
